Your Instructor

Mary Grace Basco

After successfully teaching her infant twins to sign, Mary Grace became an Independent Certified Instructor for the Baby Signs® Program.  Mary Grace earned a B.S. in Communication Disorders from Penn State University, an M.S. in Career and Human Resource Development from Rochester Institute of Technology and has been an RID certified sign language interpreter since 1986.

With extensive experience working as an interpreter, Mary Grace respectfully teaches signs linguistically rooted in ASL and recognizes the developmental limitations of little hands.  Holding true to the foundations of the Baby Signs® Program, Mary Grace celebrates the approximated signs of little hands and encourages parents to adapt to the signs their babies produce.  It is rewarding for her to know that with each workshop and class she teaches, she is helping parents gain insights into their baby's world and a closer understanding of their baby’s development.
